AVOPA creates music in the moment – a creative process full of spontaneity and magic. 

Do you know how a warm summer evening with your friends around a bonfire sounds? Or a water drop that pulled you out of a wonderful dream because you forgot to close the window? The six professional singers from Denmark and Germany – Margrethe Debel, Philip Eick, Frieda Funk, Mira Siegel, Tjeda Efken, and Peter Svane – have an answer to that and their answer sounds different from concert to concert. What doesn’t change is their love to explore the core of every emotion. AVOPA shapes the sounds live, guided by a nonverbal sign language known as Vocal Painting. You can expect beautiful haunted ballads, weird and hilarious songs in made-up languages, even screams! But most of all: you can expect the unexpected!
